If you lose more than two or three a round, buy the cheapest two-piece ball on the shelf and buy a lot of them. Nothing else about ball construction will reach you yet, and playing an expensive ball you are afraid to lose makes people swing worse, not better.
If you rarely lose a ball and you are scoring in the 80s, move up to a softer-covered ball and notice what it does around the green. That is where the difference lives — not off the tee, whatever the packaging says.
Yellow is genuinely easier to follow in the air and to find in the rough. There is no downside beyond how it looks to you.
