If you are buying your first clubs, buy this and stop reading. It is not the most interesting set in the shop and it is the right answer for almost everyone starting out.
The reasoning is simple. A beginner cannot yet feel the difference between a good iron and a great one, but they can absolutely feel the difference between owning a full set and borrowing half of one. The Strata gives you every club you need, a bag to carry them, and headcovers — for less than a set of premium irons alone.
What you will outgrow, and when
The irons will serve you for two or three seasons. The putter is the piece most people replace first, usually within a year, once they develop a preference for how a putter should look at address. That is normal and it is not a criticism of the set — putters are personal in a way that 7-irons are not.
